The Mannequin (A Short Poem)

© Louise Kearns 2008

Do you know Iamikan

Who waltzes with his mannequin?

Here and there and everywhere

In the water, through the air

Eternal rhythm stirs vacant stare

As they float across the dragon’s lair

Doesn’t matter should they fall

There is no down beneath his doll

So go ahead and be the ball.

Inside outside every laugh

Every heartbeat made of wax

Every note of every tune

Sings every fool in every room

See the sun

Come out and play

And waltz right through another day.
