There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance.
We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create.

So, what aspect of your life would you like to change? Most of us could probably answer that question in a New York minute! Because we are all human works-in-progress, there is always going to be some aspect of life that begs to be redefined. Maybe your desire to change something is a secret. Maybe you have been actively and consciously trying to form something that…just…hasn’t…quite…materialized. How do you make your life more like you want it to be?
You start with your awareness. You know. Those times when you just find yourself alone with the voice in your head. Do you find yourself there when you first wake up in the morning, even for a moment? Or when you are trying to get to sleep at the end of your day? At intermittent periods throughout your day maybe?
Well take a moment, at those times, to silence the endless chatter of your mind. Silence it by changing your focus. Take a few slow, deep breaths and focus on each breath completely. Deep breaths. Focus. Then, imagine that aspect of your life that you would like to change. Imagine how you would like that your life to look. Imagine every detail. Don’t worry about “how”! Just imagine it. Now release that thought.
There you have done it. You have started a cosmic ripple. And it only took you five minutes.
Now wake up. Go about your morning energized by the power of your vision; the joy of that thought that you imagined. Try to hold that feeling and be open to any new opportunity that may unfold during your day. Or, sleep well. Let the peace of having released any anxiety about the “how” lead you into a deep, healing sleep so that you wake up feeling energized and happy to open the ‘present’ of each new day.
As soon as possible, take even one, tiny baby step. You know how to do it. You have done it before! So just remember your former success with this, and move ahead. You can do it! Even the slightest movement in a positive direction, even a baby step, is enough.
Do one thing that pushes your comfort level. Just even a miniscule effort if that’s all you can do. Congratulate yourself for your courage and awareness of your desire to make a change in how you live your life. Give yourself a cosmic hug. Then, just push that envelope a wee bit. Do something different. Try something new. Something that seems out of your ordinary. Some act that carries with it your heart-level desire to experience a new way of doing your Being! Some act to invite the new ‘way’ into your life. Do it with awareness.
Maybe its small and simple, like lighting a candle and silently releasing the contents of your heart to ( your Divine ). Maybe you offer a warm smile to someone crossing your path. Maybe you visit a new park, take a walk, take a class, start a conversation with someone sitting next to you. Schedule something special for yourself. Explore a natural gift that you have. Or explore something new.You never know what you might really love to do or be! The important thing is that you do something beyond your current experience. You push yourself to demonstrate newness on any level.
Invite change. This is you ‘sealing the cosmic deal’ with your attention and action. An act of karmic goodwill. An act of you honoring You; of loving You. This is you using your power to steer toward the life that you are enthused about living!

Really, now, you are an old hand at this…
And remember, waves have peaks and troughs… so if you feel like you are in a trough, just use the time to rest and relax… breathe… strengthen yourself… practice health and fitness… practice inner focus.
Know that forward momentum is inevitable.
